#FridayIntroductions Welcome to My NEW Blog

Giselle here, hanging out in Elizabethtown, Kentucky! Whether you found this blog because you follow us on Instagram or through the Knot because you're searching for a wedding florist / looking for help planning your dream nuptials, I'm so glad you're here and am looking forward to getting to know you and making Elizabethtown just a bit less lonely.

Photos of my darling husband Aleks to come, but here are some sweet shots of Kenzie and our Shelties Rex and Stella taken downtown by Katie Rhodes Photography.

Because we expect to have followers from different realms, the blog will be split into four categories:

Love in ElizabethtownPrimarily this is a personal blog sharing family updates covering the latest on myself and Aleks, my fourteen-year-old daughter Kenzie, home decor, everything pets (we actually have a zoo), weekend adventures, gift guides, occasional clothing and pregnancy updates when/if we manage to get pregnant in 2019.

Travel

Visiting new cities, states and countries may just be my favorite thing in the world and I am going to begin documenting our trips from the past year as well as upcoming trips this year. Places we have recently traveled include:

  • Aspen, Colorado

  • Mexico City, Mexico

  • Savannah & Jekyll Island, Georgia

  • Phoenix & Scottsdale, Arizona

  • Austin & Waco, Texas

  • New England, USA (Maine, New Hampshire and Massachusetts / Cape Cod)

  • Paris, France

  • Nashville, Tennessee

  • Cincinnati, Ohio

In 2019 we are planning to return to Texas and Colorado plus we have a Caribbean cruise scheduled with my grandparents with ports in Cozumel, Grand Cayman and Jamaica. In addition, we will plan a larger vacation in late summer or early fall: Morocco and Switzerland are on my wish list. Expect to see basic trip-planning advice, packing tips as well as tons of photos from our vacations.

Lovely Leaves

We will be sharing tips and tricks for planning your own gorgeous wedding, wedding day rules to live by and lots of fabulous floral photos and inspiration from weddings and styled shoots. You will also see guest interviews from Kentucky vendors who we love working with.

Lunch in Lou

Starting in February 2019, we will be eating in restaurants per the usual, but I will be documenting our restaurant experiences in Louisville and beyond. Stay tuned for the best in brunch, lunch and dinner! Some of my favorite foods are Eggs Benedict, steak, seafood and I can never get enough super fancy desserts. My hubby Aleks is a lover of veggies, so exciting side items will likely pop up often as well.

Why Elizabethtown?

The blog is based in Elizabethtown because we live here. It's quite charming actually. Because of my travel schedule with weddings in Texas, all over Kentucky and random states in between, we haven't really had time to explore the area until now and I am looking forward to hitting the streets and meeting more people in the community. I would LOVE to hear any insider info on places I may not have found to eat and shop, so if you're from Elizabethtown, please comment or even reach out! Being new to the area, we haven't made many friends, but I am always up for a coffee date at Vibe if any lovely Elizabethtown ladies would be interested in grabbing a drink or maybe even meeting up over lunch.

In case you're curious about me or need to know how a Texas wedding florist raised just between Waco and Austin came to be in Elizabethtown, I do intend to share a blog post detailing how and why we moved to Kentucky very soon. For the record: No, I don't know Joanna Gaines from HGTV's Fixer Upper and YES, I have watched Elizabethtown the movie with Kristen Dunst and Orlando Bloom.
