Hey there,
Giselle Smith here.
Congratulations on you're engagement! I hope you're as excited as I am about your big day. If you've filled out our inquiry form, the next step is to schedule a call: I can't wait to learn more about you two and your wedding plans thus far. I don't want to waste our time on our scheduled call talking about me, so here's the 411:
Born and raised in Texas just north of Austin, I moved to Elizabethtown, Kentucky, in 2016. I started my wedding industry career a decade ago in 2011. Lovely Leaves was launched in January 2014 and since then, we have planned, coordinated and/or designed flowers for over 420 weddings from Austin to Waco and beginning in 2016, select weddings in Kentucky and across the south. We've been published everywhere from Style Me Pretty to Martha Stewart and even on international blogs like Magnolia Rouge. In addition to event design, floral design, and graphic design, I am a seasoned stylist and create floral-inspired flat lays for many of our weddings.
My original company, VIVID Events, recently went through a rebrand, but we're already planning some gorgeous, fun 2021 weddings. The rebrand will include a new name: Goldenrod + Glory. The new name pays tribute to the Kentucky life we live.
My love for weddings has only grown in recent years thanks to our own love story: I fell in love with Aleks before ever setting foot in Kentucky and definitely never planned to leave my lovely Texas life for some veggie-eating, overly-athletic surgeon from Lexington. We got married in 2018, and now my daughter Kenzie and I are in the Bluegrass State full-time aside from trips for work (we can design flowers for your wedding in any state if the style is right) and/or adventures eating, drinking and sightseeing with sweet fam. New to the crew born late 2019: Baby Henry. I spent much of 2019-2020 on an extended maternity leave⎯Thanks Covid⎯but I'm back in action with a big brown-eyed sidekick who just started walking.
While I share occasional personal blog posts here, you can visit my Instagram to find a mix of all the things I love from wedding flowers and event planning tips to family photos, restaurants and tricks to travel well and make the most out of every holiday or special event. We eat well, love a lot, and take pictures of pretty much everything in an effort to document the everyday to keep friends and family living out of state up to date on our Kentucky-based activities. If you're a dog lover, keep an eye out for our fur-fave, Rex⎯a gentle, old Sheltie and Henry's BFF.
Shoot me an email, I love to chat.
